l THE PREVIEW: East Thurrock United face an unknown quantity when they travel to Chippenham Town.

John Coventry has never played the Wiltshire outfit before, with Chippenham promoted from the Southern Premier League last term with a haul of 103 points.

They have four points from their first four games in the National League South, while Rocks have had a flying start to the campaign.

Currently occupying their highest ever spot in the football pyramid, second-placed East Thurrock head west in good spirits.

Only Bognor Regis have scored more than their 12 goals so far this season, although Coventry will hope his backline tightens up in the weeks to come.

l THE INSIGHT: “I have never played them before but I have taken a look at some footage of their matches,” said boss John Coventry.

“We are fortunate that the National League have brought in access to the Scout7 system so we can now watch videos of opponents.

“I know managers in that area I can talk to and the word is they are a very strong side, although I believe one of their central strikers is injured.

“I have had a bit more time to reflect on the 5-3 win against Braintree Town as well.

“I thought they played well in the first half on Tuesday, but we were good too.”

l THE TEAM NEWS: Max Cornhill, James White and Sammy Knott will miss out, while Ben Marlow is a doubt.

Goalkeeper Lukas Lidakevicius, substituted with a head injury against Braintree, is fit.
