GREAT Wakering Rovers have booked their place in the second qualifying round of the FA Vase after securing a comfortable victory over Sporting Bengal United.
Iain O’Connell’s side notched a 6-1 win over their Essex Senior League rivals.
Neil Richmond gave the hosts an eighth minute lead, while Chris Bryant doubled Wakering’s lead.
The visitors halved the deficit before the break.
But Steve Butterworth, Jay Nash and two further goals from Richmond - to complete his hat-trick - guided Wakering to a convincing win.
Meanwhile, Basildon United beat St Margaretsbury on penalties, but both sides are set to meet in a replay tomorrow after agreeing to another clash should the game end level.
Marcus Bowers gave Marc Harrison’s side the lead early in the second half, but the visitors hit back late on.
Southend Manor were knocked out of the competition after suffering a 2-1 defeat at Barkingside.
Jason Fontaine and Michael Ogboin netted for the hosts, while Manor grabbed a consolation late on thanks to Rhys Fatt.
