EAST Thurrock United threw away a two-goal lead as they were made to settle for a point at Eastbourne Borough.

Rocks travelled to East Sussex looking to bounce back from their FA Cup fourth qualifying round replay exit at Ebbsfleet United.

And goals from Vincente Belho and Max Cornhill put John Coventry's side on course to collect all three points.

But two second half goals pegged Rocks back and resulted in a share of the spoils.

Matt Drage missed a header and Belho profited to give the away side the lead.

And Rocks were to double their advantage two minutes later as Cornhill poked home from close range.

However, Eastbourne Borough reduced the arrears before the hour mark as Lloyd Dawes' cross was met by home captain Sergio Torres, who found the back of the net.

And Dawes was to get his name on the scoresheet with 16 minutes remaining.

The ball fell to Dawes on the edge of the penalty area, and the midfielder's quality strike beat Rocks goalkeeper Lukas Lidakevicius.

And neither side was able to notch a late winner, as Rocks dropped out of the National League South play-off places.
