HARRY Wheeler says Glenn Tamplin will remain involved in the Billericay Town first team after the owner posted a cryptic message on social media.

The Billericay manager and owner said on his Twitter account that he would be coming off social media and ‘hand over lots of other things for three months’ due to stress.

Tamplin said: "To all at Billericay football club and fans, I have made a decision to come off twitter and hand over lots other things for 3 months as I’m really feeling the stress and getting feelings like when I burnt out so I can’t let that happen .. honesty best policy."

Tamplin was not on the touchline as Billericay drew 2-2 with Merstham at the AGP Arena on Tuesday night.

But assistant manager Wheeler says he expects Tamplin to return for Saturday’s match at Staines Town.

“Glenn will be around,” said Wheeler. “He is taking a break from certain things but not the football side of things. The football is his release and his escape.

“He has come off Twitter as that can be counterproductive at times and it is good for him to focus on the football.

“He will be there on Saturday. He wasn’t there last night as he needed to get a few things in order first but he will be around, certainly.”
