MORE than 2,500 runners will be taking part in the Southend Half Marathon on Sunday.
The 13.1 mile run - which raises funds for Havens Hospices - starts and finishes at Shoebury East Beach.
And Jane Hopkins, Events Fundraiser for Havens Hospices, is thrilled that so many people will take part.
“We are really looking forward to cheering on all the runners at the 23rd Southend Half Marathon on Sunday,” said Hopkins.
“On behalf of everyone at Havens Hospices I would like to thank everyone who supports this event.”
Anyone wishing to still sign up for the race can do so on the day between 8am and 8.45pm.
A 3k family fun run will take place before the half marathon with registration open until 9.15am.
