HARRY Wheeler says new signing Moses Emmanuel brings a lot more than just goals to Billericay Town.

The 28-year-old forward joins the National League South newcomers from Sutton United.

He has already won promotion from the division on three separate occasions.

And Wheeler is confident the former Woking, Eastleigh and Bromley striker will play a key role in the upcoming campaign.

“Moses is a National League player and he is a talented guy,” said the Town manager.

“He has won promotion from this level three times and we want that winning mentality in our changing room.

“He has a great attitude and his assist rate is brilliant. Even when he is not scoring he brings a lot to the team with his general play and it is important our strikers are able to offer as much as possible.

“Moses is versatile in the sense that he can play wide, centrally and he can drop behind the central striker and play in the hole. He is a good footballer and he will fit in with this group of talented players.

“He has out-and-out pace, which is something we were lacking last year, apart from maybe Ricky [Modeste]. He has pace and he will fit in with what we have.

“Jake [Robinson] is so sharp that he is able to get in behind defenders, but Moses’ out-and-out pace can be important as well.”

Wheeler confirmed his business for the summer is all but done, while refusing to rule out additional signings if an opportunity presented itself.

The signing of Emmanuel follows the additions of defender Rickie Hayles, midfielder Simon Walton and goalkeeper Joshua Strizovic last week.

And Wheeler says his squad is looking strong ahead of a return to pre-season in seven days time.

“We have assembled a strong group and I am pleased,” said Wheeler. “We have added quality to the side and that was the intention.

“We can always add more but, positionally, we are covered in every position.

“Now pre-season is just around the corner I am looking forward to it.

“We have some good lads here and we have brought in more as well.

“We believe we are well set to have another good season.”
