BILLERICAY Town and Concord Rangers maintained their fine start to the National League South season by claiming home wins.

Harry Wheeler’s Billericay, who were at the National League South summit heading into the weekend, were 4-2 winners against Weston-super-Mare.

Jake Robinson gave the hosts an early lead at the AGP Arena as the striker latched onto a perfectly-weighted through ball from Sam Deering before finding the back of the net.

And Billericay doubled their lead soon after the break as Jake Howells was on hand to fire home the rebound after Adam Coombes had been denied.

Town goalkeeper Louis Wells made an impressive save to tip a deflected strike around the post.

And Billericay notched their third goal moments later as Moses Emmanuel capitalised on a defensive error before adding his name to the scoresheet.

Weston-super-Mare looked as though they had got back into the game when Jacob Cane and Jake Lee converted.

But Cane saw red moments later for a professional foul on Alfie Potter and Robinson’s 20 yard free-kick completed the scoring.

Meanwhile, Concord were clinical against Hungerford Town, winning 4-0.

Ryan Hayes opened the scoring by notching his first goal since joining from Dartford in the summer.

And player-assistant manager Jack Midson added his name to the scoresheet to double the Beach Boys’ advantage.

Midson scored his second of the afternoon before Alex Wall converted soon before the break to round off an impressive first half at the Aspect Arena.

Sam Beasant tipped a Hungerford attempt onto the crossbar early in the second half and although no goals were to follow, Concord’s unbeaten start to the season continues.

However, East Thurrock United remain without a point as they lost 1-0 at Gloucester City.

Ben Seymour put the home side in front soon after the half hour mark.

And Rocks’ job of turning the game on its head was made even more difficult when Paul Konchesky, who was a doubt going into the game, was shown a red card with more than 25 minutes still to play.

East Thurrock were to finish the clash with nine men as Ashley Miller picked up his second yellow card on 77 minutes.

And Rocks were condemned to their fifth consecutive defeat of the season.
