Hullbridge Sports face arguably their toughest test of the Essex Senior League season as they make the trip to favourites Takeley tomorrow.

Sports currently top the division after six games and are undefeated, with Takeley losing their perfect record earlier this week.

And manager Darren Manning says victory in the clash would be a huge moment in Sports’ season - with two clashes against Takeley coming up in less than a week.

“We are playing Takeley twice in three days because we’ve also got them in the Essex Senior Cup,” said Manning.

“My players don’t know how to lose at the moment and it’s important we maintain that good form.

“We need to keep playing football our way and if we do then this could be a special season.”

While Sports have won four of their six games, Southend Manor have been beaten in four of their six.

After a slow start, Adam Peek’s men welcome underperforming Redbridge to Southchurch Park looking to stop the rot and start climbing the table.

John-Jo Slater is the only absentee for Manor, while Robbie Norris may make his return.
