CONCORD Rangers face a crunch and hectic week in their ongoing battle to avoid relegation from the Isthmian Premier Division.

The Beach Boys play three times in the next five days, starting with Tuesday night's clash against Potters Bar Town at the Aspect Arena.

But Concord striker Harrison Day believes the youthfulness of the squad will help them cope with the busy schedule caused by a number of postponements earlier on on the season.

“It’s going to be tough playing Saturday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday but as a team we will get results when it matters and the players coming in will have to do a job,”said Day.

“We have a young team so hopefully that will help us get through this period, and personally If I play all of the games, I’m going to give it 110 per cent in all of them to make sure we get the result.”

Concord are currently second from bottom in the standings, nine points behind Cheshunt - who sit just above the drop zone - with four games in hand.

The Beach Boys suffered a disappointing 2-1 defeat at Cheshunt on Saturday and Day remains frustrated to have been beaten by their relegation rivals.

“Saturday’s game was tough,” said Day.

“We all knew it was going be a real battle but we started the game slowly which for me really let us down.

“We gave ourselves a mountain to climb being down 2-0 at half time but we stayed focused and knew what we had to do.

“We started the second half really quickly with a good ball being put in and I was there at the back post to put it in.

“We were the better team in the second half but couldn’t find the second goal we needed.”

However, Concord did not have much time to dwell on the defeat and are already focusing on tonight’s match with 15th placed Potters Bar.

“We all can’t wait to go Tuesday night against Potters Bar,” said Day.

“We all had a conversation and the togetherness in the group is at an all time high right now and we are ready to show what Concord is all about.

“Potters Bar will be a good team who like to get balls in the box and we owe them one after the result at their place where we were unlucky to not get anything out of the game.”

After Potters Bar, Concord host Enfield Town on Thursday before heading to Lewes this weekend.

And Day is looking to build momentum.

“Having a game on Thursday as well it will definitely help if we get a win on Tuesday night,” said Day.

“We want to make sure we are on a high for the next match with only one day to recover.”

But Day is also keen to help make that happen and is not even keeping tabs on his own individual statistics.

“I’m not really too sure about how many goals I’m on this season as I don’t really keep count,” said Day.

“The main aim is to keep this team in this league where it deserves to be and put in good performances.

“I want to score as much as possible for the team and then I will look at how many goals I have in total at the end of the season.”
