A GAME which was dominated by the visiting Beachboys ended goalless as an abundance of chances were wasted, writes Jack Smith.

Concord were in the ascendancy in this Ryman Premier clash from the off and came close to taking the lead when Danny Glozier swung in a cross which Harry Elmes head just over.

Wingate were pinned back towards the end of the first half and the deadlock was almost broken when Steve King met a corner and powered his header goalwards only to see it agonisingly blocked on the line by teammate Tony Stokes before the ball was hacked away.

The hosts posed very little threat but remained unpunished as another chance went astray, this time when Jerome Walker skipped past his man before firing a tame shot wide.

Stokes was cruelly denied a goal late on as his top-corner bound free-kick was flicked over the crossbar by a excellent last minute header from man of the match Marc Weatherstone.

Stokes had another great chance to win it in the dying seconds as a poor clearance fell on his left side, but he could only swing the effort high and wide.
