JAMIE O’Hara is targeting a Wembley final after Billericay Town reached the quarter-finals of the FA Trophy for the first time in the club’s history.

Goals from Ricky Modeste, Jake Robinson and Adam Cunnington allowed the Isthmian Premier League leaders to secure a 3-2 win over National League North high-flyers Harrogate Town, despite playing more than 20 minutes with 10 men after Calum Butcher was shown two yellow cards in quick succession on his home debut.

Billericay will now take on National League South side Wealdstone after becoming the first Essex side to progress to the last eight of the competition since Grays Athletic in 2007.

But O’Hara believes Billericay should set their sights on walking out at Wembley.

“We’re buzzing,” said O’Hara. “We had a tough draw and went up there on Saturday.

“We prepared right, got a result and rode our luck at times, but we got them back to the AGP Arena and I thought the boys were fantastic.

“We really fancied ourselves. They’re a National League North team but with the squad we’ve got we should be beating teams all the time.

“We’re more than good enough to be in the leagues above but you’ve still got to do the business on the pitch, which isn’t easy.

“They were a good side, who were well-organised and are a full-time team.

“But we were tremendous and we can now look forward to playing in the first FA Trophy quarter-final in the club’s history.

“I really feel like we’ve got a great chance of getting to Wembley.”

O’Hara, 31, is now eager to help Billericay into the Essex Senior Cup final.

Isthmian North strugglers Romford visit the AGP Arena for a semi-final clash tonight, with the winner going through to take on Chelmsford City for county bragging rights.

And O’Hara, who won the Isthmian League Cup shortly after joining Billericay last year, wants to win more silverware.

The central midfielder added: “This is a massive week for us because we’re now into the quarter-final of the FA Trophy and can get into another final tonight.

“We can’t take our foot off the gas because this is the business end of the season.

“The lads have done brilliantly well to get where we are at the moment.

“We’re still in most of the competitions, competing well and it’s a big month that could define our season.

“We’re top of the league, which hopefully we can put to bed, and if we can get to a couple of finals that would be great.”
