THE MATCH: Billericay Town could not be heading into a league clash with Met Police in better spirits.

Town were hoping to match progress in the FA Trophy with progress in the Essex Senior Cup last night (played after the Echo went to press, see echo-news.co.uk/sport for report) and will be determined to stretch their advantage in the Isthmian Premier League tomorrow.

Top with seven games in hand on second-placed Dulwich Hamlet, Town are unlikely to have it all their own way against Met Police.

Having drawn at Dulwich last weekend, the Met have lost just once in the last 10 outings and have their eye on a play-off spot come the end of the season.

THE INSIGHT: “I thought they were a good side and had quality in their team when we played them in December,” said head coach Harry Wheeler.

“I felt we were clinical that night and we took our chances so we know they can pose us problems. I think they had mixed preparation that day and maybe arrived a bit late so we expect them to be ready for the game tomorrow.

“We are sure they will be organised and we will have to take our chances once again.

“The team will likely be made up of a mixture of Tuesday and Thursday’s squads. We will need to make some changes.”

THE TEAM NEWS: Calum Butcher is available. Kevin Foley is nearing a return to training.
