GREAT Wakering Rovers manager Iain O’Connell expects Essex Senior League leaders Redbridge to be firing on all cylinders tomorrow.

Third-placed Wakering blitzed Redbridge 7-2 less than two weeks ago in the reverse fixture.

But O’Connell - who saw Rovers’ match against FC Romania postponed on Wednesday - does not expect that to happen again.

“I expect tomorrow to be tougher than the away fixture,” he said. “Redbridge will be hurting from that defeat and will come here all guns blazing. They are top for a reason and we will show them respect, as they will show us.”

Rovers have signed Jamie Brown from Southend Manor and O’Connell says he is still looking to strengthen.

O’Connell added: “He will not be the only lad I bring in ahead of the run-in. The squad has shown a real unity this season and we need that to the end if we are to get promoted.”

Hullbridge Sports’ last two matches have been postponed, with the club’s volunteers working hard to get tomorrow’s match against Tower Hamlets on.

Darren Manning’s team are currently third from bottom in the division and have vital games in hand on all the teams directly above them.

However, manager Manning admits the fixture is in real doubt ahead of kick-off.

Should the game go ahead, Sports have Callum Ibe available, with Luke Hornsley, Dan Okah and Eamon Payne set to make their debuts. Rob Hodgson is suspended.

Southend Manor are bidding to bridge the gap to the top half when they visit Barkingside tomorrow.

Manor are 12th but could close the gap to the 10th placed team to one point with victory.

Manor welcome back Lewis Sparrow from suspension, but will be without Robbie Norris and Lee Scott.

Basildon United are without a game this weekend, after their last three clashes were postponed because of either frozen or waterlogged pitches. The Bees sit fourth in the standings.
