THOUSANDS are expected to flock to Northallerton High Street for one of the biggest and newest classic car rally's in the region.

Classic Car Sunday was set up last year by Northallerton's traders, the Business Improvement District, and more than 5,000 people turned out.

This year enthusiasts are travelling from miles around to showcase rarities including a vintage Rolls Royce and a James Bond Aston Martin.

There will also be a special display of not so high value vehicles with a selection of Morris Minors and a quirky Sinclair C5. Classic Car Sunday is held from 11am to 4pm in the town's High Street.

The Friends of the Friarage Hospital will be selling raffle tickets to give people the chance to win their own car, a brand new Peugeot 208, supplied by Simon Bailes, and Northallerton Silver Band will also be performing.

"This is a great free day out for all the family," said BID Manager Graham Bell. "The owners put so much love and devotion into restoring their cars and they always attract huge crowds of admirers."
