COULD it be magic? Well yes, if you happen to be a Take That fan, because new dates and venues have been announced for the UK tour of Take That musical The Band - and Southend is among them.

Written by Tim Firth and featuring the music of the famous boyband, The Band tells the story of five 16 year-old friends in 1993, who idolise their favourite by group.

It then follows them to 25 years later where they are women trying to fulfil their dream of meeting their heroes.

The musical opened at Manchester Opera House on in September 2017 to critical and public acclaim.

In fact, it became the fastest-selling musical of recent history after the show’s stars, Five to Five, were found on BBC talent contest Let It Shine in a blaze of publicity.

Now the new touring production has announced extra dates due to public demand. The show will be coming to the Cliffs Pavilion in Southend from September 19-29.

Audience members will find themselves dancing along to the music of Britain’s most successful boyband of all time, including Never Forget. Back for Good, A Million Love Songs, Greatest Day. The Flood, Relight My Fire, Shine and Rule the World.

Tickets are now on sale and range from £23-£42.50 Visit www.thebandmusical.com or southendtheatres.org.uk .
