Members of Southend Association of Voluntary Services (SAVS) have presented a cheque to a young boy trying to raise enough money to help him walk.
Marcus McCarthy, of Kursaal Way, Southend, was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at birth and has grown up using a walking frame.
He has undergone several operations including a double hip reconstruction in a bid to get him walking unaided but there is still some way to go.
Members of Folk Like Us donated £220.53, raised through a raffle, to fund rehabilitation, physiotherapy and equipment to help support Marcus.
