Students, teachers and parents from Vange Primary School and Beauchamps Secondary School last weekend visited Basildon’s twin town in Meaux, France.
The visit was arranged as part of the Forget Never Sacrifice and Legacy WW1 project, commemorating the end of the First World War which is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Fifteen students from Vange Primary School and eight students from Beauchamps School visited the Museum of the Great War in Meaux, France, Basildon’s twin town.
The students were accompanied by parents and teachers for a special weekend organised by the museum which included re-enactments of First World War battles.
The students also visited the Lochnagar Crater and Thiepval at The Somme, which is the largest Commonwealth Memorial to the missing in the world.
