A CAR was stolen following a crash in a suspected car jacking in a residential street.

Two cars were involved in the crash in Hertfort Road, Canvey and a Range Rover was stolen.

A driver of an Audi crashed into the Range Rover and forced the driver out of the car before stealing it.

Residents were left shaken up after the incident and police knocked on doors during the enquiries into the incident.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We are investigating following an incident on Canvey where a car was stolen.

"We were called at around 7.40pm on September 10 to reports a grey Audi had been in collision with a black Range Rover Sport with the licence plate BL63 HVN in Hertford Road.

"The Range Rover was then stolen.
