A SURPRISE EVENT celebrated the 40 year anniversary of performing arts school, Julie Noble School of Performing Arts.

After starting from a small local ballet school, over the 40 years Julie Noble School of Performing Arts has grown progressively, now being based in a studio at Lubards Farm, Rayleigh. The event was held to celebrate this success, as well as honouring Julie Noble herself, who was nominated for a Lifetime Achievement Award in Dance Teaching and Learning by One Dance UK.

The event which took place on September 29th at the Mill Hall in Rayleigh was a success, with 160 people attending. This included Julies’ former and current students from the last 40 years.

Taking a trip down memory lane, attendees reminisced over photos, show footage and costumes, reflecting on the past 40 years. Other entertainment at the event included a photo booth, Dj, and singer, along with a raffle.

The raffle raised £240 and along with all ticket proceeds from the event was donated to two charities, Little Havens and the Southend Cystic Fibrosis Association. Julie also donates ticket sales from school shows to these charities.

Former student, Sophie Ashkuri, said: "I have always seen this incredible woman as an extension of my own mum; she massively contributed to my upbringing as my principal. Over 16 years, she instilled in me discipline, respect, and passion. She fostered in me a love for classical dance, and encouraged me to be the absolute best that I could be."
