A PRIMARY school held a workshop which saw pupils and teachers dressed up as figures from Greece’s history.

Year Five pupils at Holt Farm Junior School, in Ashingdon Road, Rochford, dressed up for a day of fun events.

They got the chance to try ancient Greek theatre role play and re-enacting an ancient Olympic Games.

Ancient Greece is part of the history curriculum at the school, where the children learn about the leaders and their rise to power, the culture of the Greek cities over the centuries, and how life has changed since then.

The pupils were also treated to different plays from the theatre, different activities involving their fancy dress, with all the Year Five teachers joining in with the dressing up as well.

A spokesman for the school said: “The day went extremely well. We were very impressed with the pupils’ fancy dress outfits.

“They all seemed to really enjoy the activities and lessons on offer during the workshop.

“We hope they can use their new knowledge well, and we are looking forward to more workshops in the future.”
