FAMILIES enjoyed a festive day out at Salvation Army Hadleigh Farm Estate, petting the animals and watching carol performances.

As part of Salvation Army’s national campaign, a Carol-Along took place to open the event, which saw singers across the country all sing ‘O Come All Ye Faithful’ at 11am.

Children were able to make Christmas crafts, including a wreath, and staff were on hand for meet and greets with the farm animals, including Sweep the rabbit, and Pebbles the tortoise.

The charity’s dance troupe, Timbreltastic, which meets every Friday at The Hub, in Hadleigh, jingled their tambourines along to their routines, which were enjoyed by all. Bell ringers Steel in Brass were also a hit.

Homemade wares made on site were also available to buy from artisan stall holders.

Danielle Morgan, marketing and communications coordinator at The Salvation Army Hadleigh Farm Estate, said: “We would like to extend a huge thank you from everyone across The Salvation Army Hadleigh Farm Estate for attending our Christmas Fayre and making the day a great success.

“Despite the weather, our festive spirit wasn’t dampened and we enjoyed our most varied and well attended Christmas Fayre yet.

“The event was the ideal opportunity to bring together our commitment to community engagement.”
