A WOMAN was hit over the head with a glass bottle by burglars during a raid on her home.

The horrific incident, on December 1 is one of a series of burglaries on Canvey Island during the past week.

The same day, Gator Fish Bar, on High Street, Canvey, was also targeted for the second time in two months, but the yob fortunately left empty handed after trying to smash his way through the front door.

CCTV footage shows what appears to be a teenage male, run up and kick the door several times in an attempt to gain access to the takeaway.

Kayan Tam, 34, whose parents own the fish bar and have run it for more than twenty years, said: “A group of teens broke in through the back door of the shop only two months ago, just to leave with a box of Mars bars and a box of Coca-Cola.

“Now once again, someone has caused damage to my parents’ shop which they now have to pay out for.

“It’s all for nothing as the perpetrators are not even stealing much, just costing us a lot of money in repairs.
