I MUST say I find May's Brexit deal a tad short of 'Brexit means Brexit'.

When Cameron gave us the vote, it was very simple. It was in or out.

Why do so many people not understand this? You have Corbyn ranting he wants one foot in the door, you have Cable ranting he wants another vote.

I am sick to death with it. Who cares if there is a hard border for Ireland? I don't.

Let's just get out.

...IS it so difficult? I am by no way an expert in import and export administration and paperwork but I am sure there are experts out there who can put me right on this.

Surely at some time the EU will put import tariffs on goods exported from the UK to EU countries.

To overcome this, I believe there are such things as licensed premises, export licences, manifests and custom seals at the point of departure.

These seals can only be broken by a customs officer in the corresponding importing country, after the consignment has been transported to a prescribed customs bonded warehouse.

Many of these bonded warehouses are often sited anywhere within the country and not necessarily at border crossings, nor the point of landing.

The UK has wasted over 12 months in its negotiations to prepare and streamline such an eventuality. I can’t believe it is exclusively imports from EU countries that come across into Northern Ireland.

The UK would only need to adopt the same procedures that are already in place for imports from the world outside the EU, for imports from countries within the EU.

So there never has been a need for a “hard border” or a “back stop” except in the eyes of the politicians with a separate agenda.
