A MAN has been found dead in Hockley.

Residents of Plumberow Avenue witnessed multiple police cars and an ambulance attend an address on the road in Hockley on Wednesday.

Police were attending the address following concerns for the welfare of a man.

Sadly, a man in his 20s was found deceased at the home.

One resident who was near the scene said: "I saw at least four police cars come into the area, and an ambulance.

"It looked pretty serious, I didn't know if a crime had been committed but it had many people worried, many neighbours aren't sure what's gone on."

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We attended an address in Plumberow Avenue in Hockley at 9.45am on Wednesday following concerns for a man's welfare.

"Sadly, a man in his 20s was found deceased at the scene.

"Following investigations, officers ruled there were no suspicious circumstances.

"A file will be prepared for the coroner."

A spokesman for the ambulance service said: "We were called at 9.44am yesterday with reports of a cardiac arrest in Plumberow Avenue, Hockley.

"We sent two ambulances and an ambulance officer.

"Sadly a man died at the scene."

A inquest into the man's death will be held at Essex Coroner's Court in Chelmsford at a later date.
