A DRIVER was left trapped in a car which overturned in a crash on the A13 this morning.

Firefighters attended the incident on the road between the Manor Way Junction and Five Bells junction at 7.01am.

Two fire engines from Basildon and one from Orsett attended.

A spokesman for Essex Fire Service said: "Firefighters were called to assist at the scene of a road traffic collision involving a vehicle which had overturned on the A13 between the Manor Way Junction and the Five Bells.

"Fire crews worked with paramedics to stablise the vehicle and then release the casualty who was trapped in the vehicle.

"The casualty was released by 8:10am and left in the care of the Ambulance Service."
