A BRAND new gym could open 24 hours-a-day at a shopping centre.

PureGym has announced it will open a Basildon site in the centre in April this year, if everything goes to plan.

Communicating with a potential member of social media the firm tweeted: “We currently don’t have a confirmed opening date for the Basildon gym, however we are hoping for mid April.”

PureGym prides itself on providing state of the art facilities, with no contract for customer’s and more than 50 free classes.

The new gym will be at 71 Southernhay, inside the centre.

The gym will be located next door to Fresh Estate Agents and Douglas Allen estate agents.

Puregym will become the second 24 hour gym in Basildon, joining Snap Fitness 24-7.

A spokesman said: “We’re opening a brand new PureGym in Basildon.

“If you’ve never been inside a PureGym before, here’s a taster of what your new local gym will be like.

“The gym floor will be packed full of over 220 pieces of high-quality kit ranging from cardio machines and fixed resistance machines to functional fitness and a large free weights area.

“Plus, the timetable of fitness classes included in your membership, such as circuits and cycling, will let you enjoy working out in a group for free.

“We’ll also be open 24 hours a day.

“Once we open you’ll find the gym near to Eastgate Shopping Centre, by the town square.

“We’re just a three-minute walk away from Basildon Train Station, which makes us the perfect choice for locals and commuters.

“Memberships are just £10.99 for your first year but you can stop at any time - although we’re sure you won’t want to.”

There are already PureGym’s in Billericay and West Thurrock.

Although the gym will not have any onsite parking, potential customer’s are being pointed to the 700 spaces at Eastgate Shopping Centre, as well as parking at the Brittania car park, and the Asda car park near by as options for its members when they are visiting the gym.
