SOUTHEND United's fans have their say on Saturday's 3-2 defeat to Plymouth Argyle at Roots Hall

Awful display by the majority of the Blues, route one to no target man. We didn’t keep the ball or use it well, just horribly frustrating to watch. The obvious bright spot was young Charlie Kelman, bright and intelligent on the ball.

@kristofshrimper

Five midfielders and only one forward at home to second from bottom team. Second half, Mantom on the right? Play players in their positions, it’s basics. I’d rather see Macca at left-back. Hendrie is not a League One defender. Well done Charlie Kelman, what a talent. Play him.

@manleyst

The only shining from the game is Kelman’s goal. It’s great to see youth team players breaking into the first team. The game itself was incredibly poor and the sooner we get some signings in this month the better as we are really struggling with injuries.

@danmcsufc

We cannot continue playing Mantom, Dieng and Dru in midfield. They are too similar and, for me, Mantom is pedestrian and predictable. No width or creativity and just unbelievable Cox is left up on his own.

@peterrmiles

Terrible performance. The senior players are letting the team down. Lacking passion and quality. Bang average. Amazing goal by Kelman though.

@easymorninrebel

First proper dissent from the West Stand and rightly so. Reminiscent of the worst games under Brown, hoofing it up to an isolated Cox is just so insanely frustrating and pointless. No strength in midfield,no creativity and players looked apathetic. Worrying.

@tomjguy

Charlie Kelman, that is all. Nothing more to talk about, everything bang average.

@hund85

I am baffled why we play one up front at home and then to make matters worse we hoof high balls to Cox who must be getting fed up chasing lost causes. Midfield is not creative enough and we are blighted by individual errors which are costing us.

@garywil74578081

Where were we for 80 minutes? Did not play like we were at home. Why did we wait that long to get in the game? We kept hoofing the ball up to Cox when both of their defenders were over six foot. It just did not make any sense.

@kierangarnett_

Right, well the moaners need to get a sense of perspective. Powell is trying to build something here and Rome wasn’t built in a day. Get behind him.

@prittlewell142

Complete tosh. They ran rings round us. Why we play one striker up front on his own at home is beyond everyone. Completely disheartening to watch.
