A PRIMARY school has introduced a new scheme to reduce the number of parents parking illegally.
The scheme offers tokens to pupils who walk to school, which are then accumulated in their respective classes and at the end of each month the class with the most tokens are announced the parking champions.
Mark Francois, MP for Rayleigh and Wickford, recently visited Westerings Primary Academy, in Hawkwell, to see its new 3PR parking scheme in action.
He said: “The 3PR parking scheme is a highly successful scheme that is being rolled out across Essex.
“I first saw the scheme in action at Wickford Primary School at the start of the summer, so I wrote to all the schools in my constituency to encourage them to adopt the idea.
“I am delighted to see it is now in use Westerings Primary Academy and that it is already proving to be such a success. I wish the school all the best with the scheme and look forward to keeping in touch with them in the future.”
