STUDENTS took part in an emergency services workshop event.

The youngsters, from the Basildon Lower Academy, were invited to take part in this year’s Children and Young People’s Emergency Services Conference.

The event was hosted in Chelmsford by the Essex Youth Assembly, in partnership with Essex Police, Essex Fire and Rescue Service and Essex and Herts Air Ambulance.

It was an opportunity for students across Essex to voice their views on what they thought about the emergency services, as well as take part in various interactive workshops.

Jack Sharp, a Year Nine pupil at the school, said: “The day was really interesting, I was fascinated by all of the different stories they told us. The session on Sexting was really informative.”
