A FIFTEEN-YEAR-OLD boy is one of five arrested on suspicion of murder.

The arrests follow six months after the fatal stabbing of 21-year-old Dwayne Forrester in Little Garth, Pitsea, on July 7 last year.

Mr Forrester was found injured at about 7.45pm and despite the best efforts of paramedics, he died shortly after being rushed to Basildon Hospital.

A murder investigation was launched by the police and a post-mortem examination found he had suffered a single stab wound to the chest which proved fatal.

Officers carried out a number of high-profile campaigns in the area where Dwayne was killed, including multiple door-to-door enquiries and search warrants to try and catch those responsible.

Yesterday officers executed warrants and raided properties in Basildon and London and arrested two men and three teenage boys.

A spokesman for the force said: “Two men from London, aged 21 and 23, and three boys from Basildon, aged 15, 16, and 17, have all been arrested on suspicion of murder and being concerned in the supply of drugs.

“The 15 and 16-year-olds have also been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.”

Police have previously confirmed one line of enquiry being investigated is that Dwayne’s death could be linked to drug dealing.

Det Insp Stuart Truss has previously shared concerns potential witnesses were being held back by fear or “some kind of loyalty” from helping his family to get some form of justice.

In a joint tribute shared after his death, Mr Forrester’s family said: “Dwayne will be remembered by all of us as a loving boy who enjoyed being with his family and was patient and kind with his young nieces and cousins.

“We know Dwayne had a troubled past, but we will always remember that he wanted to do the right thing for people and help whenever he could.

“He always made time to cuddle his mum and dad.

“He loved his music, football and computer games and dreamed of being a train driver since he was very young.”

Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances around the tragic death of Mr Forrester.
