A BABY photographer has been inducted into the Guild of Photographers after becoming one of the best in the business.

Newborn and baby photographer, Sarah Smith, from Rayleigh, only took up professional photography three years ago and is delighted that “little old me” has been recognised with membership into the Photographers’ Bar.

Echo:

She said: “Being certified with the Photographers’ Bar and being awarded a place in the list of the top ten international photographers is something even more special to me as it shows consistency and professionalism - every shoot I do is at award-winning professional standard.”

Becoming a member of the Photographers’ Bar is a distinction awarded to those photographers who have successfully had images assessed by the guild over the course of a year, and whose images are of such an exceptional level they merit inclusion.

Echo:

Sarah runs her own photography business and is also adept at maternity, head shots and family photos, but says baby photography is “her thing”.

Sarah added: “I just love the connection I have with the babies and their parents.

“For the parents to put their trust in me with their baby which the most precious things to them, and to then allow me to create magic with them is an honour.

“The babies are also adorable.

Echo:

“I am very passionate about what I do and I hope to keep creating magical moments.

“I am over the moon about the certifications I have been awarded by the Guild of Photographers and I cannot wait to see what is next in store for me for the future.”

She was also shortlisted for the Founders Cup and the Guild of Photographers’ image of the Year and was named in the top ten photographers of the year in the baby genre.

Echo:

Among her images were two young Rayleigh twins, posing together, whom she photographed in her own home studio.

A mum-of-two herself, Sarah’s work can be seen at sarahsmithphotography.co.uk.
