RESIDENTS were outraged after an emergency engineer was heard shouting and swearing during the early hours of the morning.

Following a power cut in Westcliff yesterday which affected 55 homes, engineers from UK Power Networks arrived at Southbourne Grove to carry out the essential repairs at 2am.

Several residents were disturbed by the loud and prolonged drilling which was said to have lasted around two hours.

One of the frustrated residents filmed the incident after hearing one of the engineers swearing profusely.

Upon leaving her property, the man can be heard shouting: "F*** off" and "F**** off away from me".

The obscenities appear to have been directed at the man's colleague.

UK Power Networks received 38 calls regarding the power cut, which was resolved at 10am today, February 5.

A spokesman for UK Power Networks, said: “We will review the video and take appropriate action if necessary.”
