A SUCCESSFUL drugs bust saw two arrested as police uncovered a haul of class A and B drugs... as well as thousands of pounds in cash.

Operation Falcon saw a raid carried out at 7pm on Tuesday in Waarem Avenue, Canvey.

A man and a woman were arrested for possession with intent to supply, and released under investigation, while another woman and two children where interviewed yesterday in relation to the drugs.

Essex Police were unable to confirm which class A and B drugs were seized, and the quantities of each, but did confirm thousands of pounds were found in the house.

And one nearby resident, who asked not to be named, spotted the raid in action and praised police for targetting drugs on Canvey.

He said: “This is a fantastic result, it really is.

“I spotted the police cars on Wednesday evening, there where maybe three, and they seemed to be in and out very quickly.

“As a resident, everyone is saying drug dealing is going up on the island, and you always hear people talking, or see it on Facebook about dealers just selling drugs in the open.

“It is not a good sign, but this shows police are aware of the issue and targetting Canvey.”

A spokesman for Essex Police’s Castle Point and Rochford community policing team said: “A Drugs warrant was executed at 7pm on 13th Feb by Op Falcon in Waarem Ave, Canvey.

“An adult male and female were arrested for Possession with Intent to Supply.

“Two juveniles and another adult female will be interviewed on 14th February in relation to the offence.

“What we believe to be Class A & B drugs have been seized as well as cash.

“The two arrested have been interviewed and Released Under Investigation whilst we carry out the forensic work and complete the investigation.”
