Police are investigating after a masked man robbed a superstore at gunpoint.
The incident happened late last night at Mama's Superstore, in Southernhay, Basildon.
It was reported a man, described as wearing a mask and holding a gun, entered the store at around 11.05pm.
He pointed the firearm at a member of staff before making off with hundreds of pounds in cash and packets of tobacco.
No-one was injured.
