STEPHEN Humphrys has undergone surgery on the facial injury he suffered when scoring against Accrington Stanley.
Humphrys broke his nose, cheekbone and eye socket when clattering into Stanley shot-stopper Jonny Maxted.
And Blues boss Chris Powell confirmed the forward has now had his operation.
"He’s had an op which we believe is successful and that's great but it’s about the rehab now," said Powell.
"It’s in such a precarious place that it can affect your confidence going for headers.
"You have to overcome that but hopefully there comes a point he can wear a mask and play.”
Humphrys has scored four goals in seven games since signing from Fulham but has missed the Shrimpers' last three games.
