CHRIS Powell feels tomorrow’s clash at Peterborough United is the first of eight cup finals for Blues.

Southend United make the trip to London Road without a win in 10 games, sitting 20th in the League One standings.

And Powell - whose side are only above the relegation zone on goal difference - feels the Shrimpers are facing a succession of huge games in their fight to stay up.

“Saturday’s game is the first of eight cup finals for us,” said Powell.

“We’re in a position no-one wants to be in but from 12th down we’re all in it and it’s not as though we’re cut adrift.

“It’s got harder for us with results, confidence and losing players but we’ve got to fight through that.

“This period is vital and we have to be up for it.”
