Music comes to Maldon’s Blue Boar Hotel this month, courtesy of the Jamie Williams Collective.

The popular band is appearing at the Silver Street venue on Saturday from 8pm to 11pm.

Frontman and guitarist Jamie ‘Psycho MC’ Williams is a singer-songwriter with a soulful voice, a solo album under his belt and a passion for blues, folk, country, soul and rock.

In 2009, the idea for Jamie Williams and the Roots Collective was born.

The five-piece band started gigging in 2010 and have been going from strength to strength ever since, with a speciality for rousing festival sets.

This band has got a buzz going with both their exciting live shows and collective personable charm.

The rest of the collective is made up of Dave ‘the Hat’ Milligan on lead guitar and vocals, Nick ‘Charity Saint’ Garner on harmonicas and vocals, Jake ‘the Dude’ Milligan on bass, and James ‘the Hog’ Bacon on drums and percussion.

They will also be playing at this year’s Smoke and Fire Festival in Maldon’s Promenade Park. Admission to the show is free.

On Friday, March 29, there will be a quiz night at the pub from 8pm to 11pm.

Teams compete for bragging rights and the cash pot prize.

Entry quiz is £2 per person for teams of up to six.
