Officers have been called to a residential estate with concerns for a man's welfare.
Essex Police was called shortly before 4.50am today with concerns for the welfare of a man on the top of a building in Prospect Close, Southend.
Officers continue to speak to the man.
Witnesses say the man threatened to jump off the building.
