SARACENS coach James Tyrell is relishing the chance to work with Rochford Hundred next season.

Tyrell - who is involved in Saracens’ academy - will be a skills coach at Magnolia Road.

And he is looking forward to working with Rochford’s players as the club look to secure a third promotion in succession.

“There’s a good set up here and it’s exciting to be coming in to help,” said Tyrell.

“They’re an ambitious club and I enjoy coaching different people and enjoy working with different people too so it’s going to be good.

“I won’t be here week in, week out but I’ll be here two or three times a week to support the coaches and help where I can.

“I also love learning from other coaches and that will help with my own development too.”

Tyrell works with Saracens’ under-18 players in their academy but has also helped with younger and older age groups, including the second team at Allianz Park.

And it was through his role with the reigning Premiership champions that Tyrell first linked up with Rochford.

“I have worked with Chris Green before as, working in the Saracens academy, we have a link-up with Seevic where he works,” said Tyrell, who also helped at Hertford last season.

“We have had a couple of Rochford’s coaches to come and watch us in training to see how we do things and we built a relationship through that.”

Rochford will line up in the London & SE Premier Division next season after securing back-to-back promotions without losing a single game.
