AN off-road motorcycle club has added to the thousands of pounds it has already raised for a children’s charity after a high-octane racing event held in Gosfield.
The Pre 65 Motocross Club, founded in 1981 with the aim of preserving the use of classic scramblers, held a traditional motorcycle scramble (pictured) on the land next to Great Spansey Wood.
The group holds ten meetings a year across the East of England and this was the seventh year in a row the bikers – some over the age of 80 – have come to Gosfield.
This year’s event generated £1,000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Club treasurer Lesley Willmore said: “Watching the old bikes from the 1960s race is great fun.
“The event went very smoothly and as always the atmosphere was very exciting.”
