ROCHFORD has been named in the top ten best places to retire, according to an estate agents research.
The town comes in at sixth place in the UK for the best places to retire, due to "its low crime rates and overall happiness of residents."
Rochford is the only place in Essex to make the top ten, with Fareham in Hampshire the best place to retire, according to Yopa.
Yopa's findings come as part of their 2019 downsizers guide, which involved surveying over 1000 people aged over 55.
Ben Poynter, CEO of Yopa, said: "Our 2019 downsizers guide takes into account the common worries when moving - from house prices to happiness levels, and crime rates to pollution."
