Police were forced to chase a car across Southend after it refused to stop and crashed into a police car.
Shortly before 3.30am this morning the driver of a green Ford Focus failed to stop when asked by officers on West Street.
Assisted by the National Police Air Service, the car was pursued to Shakespeare Drive where it was in a crash with the police car, before driving off.
The pursuit continued onto Sutton Road, where the car stopped at around 4am.
A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and a 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of taking a motor vehicle without the owner's consent, drug possession and being a passenger involved in a fail to stop.
Both men remain in police custody.
