A man from Southend will appear in court on Tuesday charged with attempted murder.

Connor Dunne, of Market Place, has been charged by police following an incident in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire.

Dunne, 25, was arrested after officers were called to Pound Close at 10.30am on Tuesday, October 22, where they found a teenage boy with serious injuries.

The boy was flown to hospital via air ambulance where he was said to be in a serious but stable condition.

Two men, aged 17 and 19, who were also arrested in connection with the incident have both been charged with attempted murder.

Dunne will be appearing at St Albans Crown Court having been quizzed by detectives from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit.

Det Chief Insp Justine Jenkins said: "Extensive enquiries are being carried out to help establish the sequence of events before and after the incident.

"We believe this to be an isolated incident between individuals who are thought to be known to each other.

"We are still appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident take place, or anyone with any information regarding the incident, to get in contact with us straight away."
