A MUM who is recovering from cancer had her car smashed in by vandals.

Kelly Buckingham-Garcia and her family were woken by the sound of banging outside their home in Great Bromley.

They realised their white Suzuki Celerio, parked on their drive in Hall Road, had been badly smashed up.

Kelly, who has eight-year old-triplets, said the incident came at a bad time as she has very little money to pay for the damage.

She is in the process of recovering from anal cancer.

She said: “It happened at about 12.05am on Monday.

“We were woken up by loud noises. My husband saw someone running from the car which was parked on the drive.

“They were wearing a white t-shirt. They got into a car that sped off towards Dedham.

“A car in Dedham was targeted in the early hours too.

“We called the police and were told we’d get a visit but still no-one has attended.”

The front windscreen was completely shattered and the back windscreen had been smashed in.

The front of the car had also been hit with some sort of object and left holes.

Although she has insurance, as there is no-one to claim against she will have to foot the bill.

The car is being repaired at the cost of £1,400.

In October Kelly was diagnosed with cancer and had 28 days of chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

She has not been able to work as much and says this damage to her car has made the situation worse.

She said: “It was hell.

“I’ve just been given the news the core of where tumour was is now dead.

“It’s a long recovery, but I’ll get there. It will not beat me.

“Treatment went through Christmas and the New Year so that was hard for us all as a family.

“This is so unfair.

“To those who did this, what was the point? It is mindless and selfish, there is not a care for anyone.”
