A CELEBRATED artist is hoping to save paper maps from the shredder with his latest unique exhibition.
Walton-based artist Greg Lashmar's latest show On the Map is now open at Colchester Library and Community Hub, in Trinity Square.
The show features images of Colchester and its surrounding depicted onto original Ordnance Survey maps.
The images are created with a monochrome palette using Indian Ink in various dilutions to achieve depth and tonal variety.
Mr Lashmar said: "Paper maps are becoming increasingly undervalued in this age of digital mapping and I like to save some from the shredder by utilising them in my artwork.”
The exhibition, which can be visited for free, runs until Friday, November 22, and the pieces on show are for sale.
Colchester Library is open Monday to Friday between 9am and 6.30pm, Saturday between 9am and 5.30pm and Sunday between 1pm and 4pm.
