“A 30 year-old man from Canvey was arrested [on Monday morning] on suspicion of attempted murder and is currently in custody.”

Holly Allen, 32, said: I saw loads of police cars an ambulances fly down Link Road and pull up by Dinant Avenue where the flats are.

“Some of them went inside the flats and some were standing outside talking to other residents.

“I did wonder whether something quite serious had happened because of how many police cars and ambulances had actually turned up but I didn’t think it would be a stabbing.

“Another young person has become a victim to knife crime. It has to stop.

“The fact it keeps happening so close to home now is so worrying. It makes me want to move my children to another area.”

A spokesman for East of England Ambulance Service, said: “We were called on Sunday, November 3 at 5.55pm to reports that a man had been assaulted.

"We sent two ambulance crews and resources from Essex and Herts Air Ambulance (EHAAT).
