MORE than 20 vehicles have been broken into in Benfleet.

Essex Police have launched a probe into the numerous burglaries from the town over the past few weeks.

On each occasion items have been stolen from the cars.

A police spokesman said: "We have a number of pieces of CCTV which we are releasing in the hope that someone will be able to tell us who these people are.

"Some of the roads which have been affected are Cumberland Avenue, Avondale Road, Clifton Avenue, Oakfield Road, Perry Road, Philmead Road, Klin Road, Sheridan Avenue, Constitution Hill, Bradley Avenue, Kingston Road, Robins Path and Thundersley Church Road.

"We would continue to urge residents to ensure their vehicles are secure overnight to prevent any opportunistic crime." Call 101 or email castlepointandrochfordcpt@essex.police.uk.
