SOL Campbell is certain Southend United will be able to add to their squad in January - despite their lowly League placing.

The Shrimpers are second from bottom in the standings after winning just one of their opening 18 games.

But Campbell feels that will not put off players coming to the club in the New Year.

“There are players who will always want first team football,” said Campbell.

“We’re also not cruising along in mid-table so there’s pressure on every single game and point and some players like that.

“We would like to try and bring six or seven in but we have to make sure we get the right ones.

“They have to be able to handle it and not crack under pressure because every point is precious.”
