SOUTHEND Airshow still brings back fond memories for residents across South Essex.
The show ran for 27 years until its demise in January 2013.
And residents on the Echo’s Facebook page still have positive memories.
Terry Fane said: “It was a great show bringing thousands of visitors to Southend. The majority of the public I’ve spoken too think it should come back.”
Ron Price added: “The best memory among many was at the first Airshow when Concorde flew low over the sea with Red Arrows up above them. It made the hairs on the back of ones neck stand up. Fantastic to have watched it.”
Jain Stone said: “As a teenager the air show was the place to be. A place to see and be seen.”
