THE Forgotten Girls is the fourth book by Leigh author Lizzie Page.
It was inspired by the famous war-photographer Robert Capa and a relationship he had while he was living in London during World War Two.
Lizzie explains: “I’ve always been interested in the incredibly brave war-correspondents, and in this book, I wanted to explore this and how people back at home, and indeed later generations, are impacted by war.”
A book launch event for the publication will take place on February 13 at Create98 in Leigh Broadway.
Lizzie will chat to readers and sign books there from 11am – 1.30pm.
Lizzie is published by Bookouture and her books have been translated into Dutch, Swedish and Czech.
She is currently writing her fifth novel.
The book is available online from Amazon, and Kobo.
It is also available at some bookshops and at Stow Marie’s Airfield (which also has a mention in the book).
Lizzie Page is part of the creative writing team at Create 98, which is also launching a Write Club for aspiring authors in March.
Lizzie added: “Many people tell me they would like to write - we’re offering a fabulous, welcoming space, stimulating workshops, industry guest speakers, critiquing, cake and so much more.
“Wednesday night is writing night in Leigh and we’d love to meet anyone who had a book inside them that they are determined to get out.”
